Cottage Labs Joins DuraSpace Registered Service Provider (RSP) Program

DuraSpace is pleased to welcome Cottage Labs as its newest participant in our Registered Service Provider (RSP) Program, delivering services for Fedora and Samvera (formerly Hydra).

Cottage Labs is the program’s first Samvera provider. Richard Jones, Founder and Senior Partner, says, “We based our product, Willow, on Samvera/Fedora because it’s cutting-edge open source technology. Joining this program is part of our commitment to building on long term engagement with the repository community that’s looking for better ways of managing publications and research data.”

“We are delighted to formalize a working relationship with Cottage Labs” says DuraSpace CEO, Debra Hanken Kurtz. “We believe this new registered service provider will promote greater adoption of both Samvera and Fedora. It’s an exciting development for the global user  community of both technologies.”

The RSP program establishes partnerships with companies that provide services to institutions using DuraSpace stewarded technologies. RSPs are interviewed and reference checked to participate in the program. In addition, RSPs make an investment in the technology and a commitment to be active participants in the open source software communities they serve.

Established in 2009, DuraSpace is an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization providing leadership and innovation for open technologies that promote durable, persistent access to digital data. More than eighteen hundred institutions use and help develop open source software in partnership with DuraSpace.
